Speaking of Gifts...

I guess there is a little something to share / report. We love it when we receive customer reviews on our services and products. We also love it when a customer just expresses joy when they've found the right gift they have been looking for.

A customer was looking for a gift (the cup you see in the photo below). She has been was looking for a gift for a while for her music Minister and well, here's what she had to say...

“I have been looking for the perfect gift for our minister of music. This is it.”

Gwendolyn H., Mississippi

As I read her review, I felt her joy! Lol...  I also felt joy in that we were able to put a smile on the customers face and had what she was looking for!

I know how it feels to finally find what you have been searching for and finally, to know the search is over... lol

Gwendolyn, if your reading this Months Newsletter here's a big Thank You! for sharing.

OUR INDUSTRY OUTLOOK

Bringing sustainability to the mattress industry

We would like to think that Covid-19 is the blame for all our troubles but, the truth to the matter is that Covid-19 only exposed our problems.

In our past articles on Our Industry Outlook, I covered issues on supply and demand, logistics, customs and manufacturing and, its issues on the high cost of commodities. Like with anything else, as the cost of commodities go up the quality of products go down, thus creating ripple effects.

One aspect of the industry gaining attention for these ripple effects is the mattress industry.

Long before covid-19 many mattress manufacturers were manufacturing mattress on the lower-end spectrum creating a revolving door for repeat customers (retailers). That being the intent. As a result, retailers were selling to their customers also creating a repeat base. And as the cycle would go, the manufacture makes it for cheap and sells it for cheap, the retailer buys it for cheap and sells it for a profit, the customers buys it and after a year or so it loses it comfort level forcing the customer to dispose of the mattress most likely at a landfill and then return to the same retail or one alike and re-purchase a new low-end quality mattress repeating the cycle.

So now what we have is a compounded problem.

The the disposal of mattresses due to fast track business models and the additional disposal of mattresses during the start of covid-19; since we were spending more time at home, investing in mattresses to elevate our comfort made all the sense in the world.

"According to several estimates, more than 20 million discarded mattresses end up in U.S. landfill every year. That's more than 50,000 mattresses a day that take up 132,000 square miles of landfill space".

What we hope to see moving forward are more states joining in on mattress recycling programs. As we speak, there are three states that are currently part of a recycling program; there's "California, Connecticut and Rhode Island with Oregon being number four in 2024". We do hope to see New York join soon!
